I'm learning C++ currently... after a bad experience with C# (I didn't like it lol, dont ask, too confusing and I dont like how it works)

Anyway, what is the estimated time to learn C++ basics and C++ for hacking/cracking?

It differs for each person depending on how you learn it and how you learn in general (do you like to learn things by experimenting or by reading stuff and taking in chunks of information.

ya if you kinda know c++ and you want to learn hacking/coding how do you go about learning hacking and coding

the time it takes to learn, is relative there is no definite answer as can be seen by the fruitless coments left here..

my recommendation is not not worry about how much time it takes and to start worrying about where u can learn from and what u can learn off of something..

because I think that reading a book about C++ semantics is basiclly unimportant u may learn some nifty lil coding tricks but that is all. by reading Source of other projects and going through it with a fine toothe comb over the API's and usages can true learning truely start Wink

if you didn't like c# then u might not like c++

i like to use vb.net (its easy,and u can hack game with it and do basically the same as any other language 'you can use any programming language to do stuff it only matters how much you know and how much of a time frame u got ;P '

but imo just pick any and learn it..there's no quick way to learn a language

you can do like me and find tutorials and samples to learn how they work and what each command does

but some pick it up fast and others don't...

I kinda hate C++ because what if you wanna output 4 strings ?

has to be like cout << "%s, %s, %s, %s" <<s1 <<s2 <<s3 <<s4<< newl;

while C is:

printf("%s %s %s %s", s1,s2,s3,s4);

if i do C++, then i use C++ Builder 2009, if C then MSVC++.

Everybody learns differently, just learn it at your own pace so you get the concepts right.
