I'm not sure, but someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's a cord, that links the that thingy, to a thingy inside the motherboard.. Sorry if I used the thingy to much xD. THINGY

I think I know what you're talking about, the thing for like big hard drives or whatever. My question is, do I need it?

No you don't need to use the eSATA port. However, eSATA is capable of WAYYYY more bandwidth than USB 2.0.
I'd recommend getting an eSATA cable for a 1TB drive, for faster transfers. However, you might want to calculate how much bandwidth your hard drive can move (both the internal drive and the external drive), so you won't be wasting your gained bandwidth. Only the fastest Intel SSDs can just about reach the maximum bandwidth that eSATA/SATA supports.

No reason not to use eSATA unless your motherboard doesn't allow for it, or if you want slower transfer rates.

Okay, thanks guys. I guess I'll get it, but where can I find the slot for it? I want to know if I can use it.
If you guys can find out, here's my motherboard stuff:
General Information :
Manufacturer : http://www.abit.com.tw/ (Abit)
Product : NF7-S/NF7,NF7-V (nVidia-nForce2)
Version : 2.X,1.0
I only have one hard drive in it right now, so I think there should be more slots. Not sure.

I believe SATA isn't the same as e-SATA
You might wanna get more info before buying it

You are going to need:
*The hard drive ( the one you picked is great, but it is not the fastest. Though it will do FINE!
* eSATA bracket:

* eSATA cable:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812270093
Screw the " eSATA bracket " into the PCIe slot (it will not connect into the actually PCI-e slot on your mobo ). Then connect the red cables to your eSATA slot or i think the SATA spot works...
Plug the "eSATA cable" from your external hard drive to the "eSATA bracket".
eSATA is as fast as SATA. Much faster than USB2.0. Much faster than firewire.

I decided that I'll get an internal drive, because I have one more slot. I have a question, when I install the hard drive, do I just mount it, plug in the eSata Cable and format it? I don't know what the bracket is and will I need a bracket if I use an internal drive?

Really depends on your chassis. Some come with extra "rails" for HDDs. If yours was OEM, you might need to mount it directly with screws. It all depends.

Yeah, I have like 2 extra slots for a different HD under my current HD. So I wouldn't really need the bracket?

| Oh, I thought you had meant a bracket to hold the HDDs inside the chassis. No, the product localhost mentioned was for if you were to use the hard drive internally. Pretty much an extension cord for SATA cables.

You do not use an eSATA cable when you are using an internal drive.
eSATA = external SATA
SATA = internal SATA
You need a SATA cable.
There is a difference.
