was on an episode of mythbusters. No way it would go straight up. human can't do it. Would come back down at an angle. if shot straight up, it would come straight down. Terminal Velocity 's a bitch ;]

And without air, it won't fire.
Along with the fact that if you shoot it straight up, yes, there is a chance it may hit you, but it's microscopic because of wind.

You need air to cause the spark to fire the gun, nothing happens.
