Can't see my wireless network with my laptop...

ok i have a pc that is connected with a cable to the router and everithing works fine. nice internet etc. but when i try to find my router with my laptop (both have WLAN connection) i can't find my router andwhen i connect the laptop to a wired cable.. lets say LAN2 then i have internet.. somebody knows whats wrong? i have tried differend channels and more...
i have also disabled all modes and tried and again enabled.

yes because the laptop did already work with wlan in my friends house..

k so how far away are you? and try setting channel 5 and then restarting your router.

try channel 5 and make the ssid smaller.

btw the ssid is 22 characters and 32 is allowed...

and could it help to change from WPA to WEP ?

have you got a wlan service paramater like this? (refresh if you can't see image)

just try change the ssid to something smaller and changing to wep to test can't hurt. no guarantees that this will help though.

yes and it's enabled and i have also a switch on my router to enable/dosable and the WLAN led is green so WLAN is enabled.

maybe u know how to see my laptops channel?

just try to update your wlan drivers anyway, and you could always upgrade your router firmware (possibly having nothing to do with your problem).

btw forgot to say the router is new. it's 2 days old. it has the newest firmware and... updating the drivers... maybe u know where to get it for windows xp professional and the laptop is fujitsu siemens and the network adapter is nvidia Wlan or somthing like that.

if it's a factory built computer tell me the model number and i can help you find drivers. if you can't find, download CPU-Z and send me a print screen of the main board tab.

Try switching to WEP and seeing if it works. If you have an older laptop, it might not be compatible with WPA.

thanks for the replies..
wpa.. wep.. and even no security didn't work... maybe it's an too old radio card... (1.5 years) or maybe the wrong channel but how do i see on what channel the laptop is ? and how to add a device manually in windows xp if i know the mac adress or network name?
