If I were to install Windows 7 right now, what are some of the disadvantages? Like, would I still be able to install programs such as Tor?

Seeing as the only version of Windows 7 out is a view version, that i don't even think is released for the public...

You'd probably run into many bugs, exploits, problems, install errors, driver errors, exploding bombs going off in your computer after you make a 1337 alogirthim for a rouge company bent on destroying the US in a fire sale etc...

So just stay with Vista/XP till the first real version of Vienna is out in 2009.

Windows 7 Beta is out for testers, but someone released a activator for it.

Ugh, it's somewhere where I wouldn't want to talk about. Anyway, Microsoft downgraded the minimum req's and attempt to make every software compatible with Vista also be compatible with win7.

Windows 7 is in the alpha stages (pre-beta). It's best not to judge in a bugged software.

You may be able to install the programs,but using it the way you expected to may not be the case.

Wait until the RTM version of Win7.

Well, I'm running Windows 7 and it's stable. USB works. I can use my external Maxtor hard drive, and my USB mouse and keyboard work too. I have not encountered any software incompatibilities except while installing Adobe CS4, the installer gives me a warning saying the software runs best on Windows XP SP2 and Vista SP1. CS4 still works, just that little glitch.

I know it expires in June 2009, even if you use a crack. But, I reformat my system every 6 months or so, so it's not really that big of a deal. I'll upgrade from build 6801 to the official beta build by then.
