|
|
Well for the past couple of days my internet has been so slow. I get speed of 3MBs at the most on speedtest.net when I used to get 10MBs. I called my ISP and asked if there was anything wrong with them and they say no but resetting my Router might help. Well it didn't. Also on my brother's laptop it's as fast as it used to be. I'm running Vista Ultimate x64.

Flush the DNS resolver cache.
(start>run>cmd>"ipconfig /flushdns")
Also check the ethernet cable to make sure it's not damaged.

It's not only my browser that's slow but my Torrent downloads, my ping when I play games and stuff.
@Cheetah: ipconfig /flushdns only made things worse.

read your ISPs fair usage policy?
last ISP I was with kept limiting me to 0.5mbps between 5:30 and 11:30 PM
because I was a "heavy user".
They didn't even tell me about this when I rang up about it

No but it's weird because it's as fast as it should be on my brothers computer but not on mine. Also I updated my Network driver and still no difference.
Also the FlushDNS made thing worse.
