i have a 1tb western digital elements hd and the transfer rate is 20mbps with usb 2.0 and i was wondering if esata would work with it if i had a esata adapter?

I would be careful with a 1TB HDD. If you can power it externally from the mains do that. Also the USB2 interface has a max transfer or 480Mbps / 60MBps. Its reliant on your PC actually caching the transferred data fast enough, so you might only see about 30MBps in practice, but yeah, thats the deal.

Correct, but do you have the correct equipment? Even if you did, your computer might not be fast enough to write to the disk after passing through the cache.

right but its really annoying if a i move a 1gb file and it takes forever
i was hoping there was a way to speed it up
