screw it im nt doing it ill just restore my computer

If you haven't done any sort of defragmentation for an extended period of time, I'd recommend you do it. And CCleaner is NOT on your computer, and you'll have to download it. Please use Google, if you're wondering what programs are and what they do, it really helps. I'd recommend you use JkDefrag for your defragmentation and if you don't know how to use the DOS for it, use JkDefrag GUI.

JkDefrag is a good program, but the GUI on Windows prior to Vista works just fine.

And to OP, here is a basic description of what Disk Defragmenter does:

Information written to your hard drive is written in small pieces called clusters. These clusters are typically 4 KB in size (though that can be changed if wanted). Say you have a 700MB video file on a CD and you want to transfer it to your hard drive. When you copy it over to your hard drive, that 700MB is being broken down into roughly 179,200 clusters. Now, even though this one file may show up in explorer in one piece, in actuality the information has been broken up and written in separate places on your hard drive. The more this information is written out of order the more "fragmented" your hard drive becomes.

What the defragmenter does is rearrange these clusters so that they are in one continuous line, meaning that the 700MB file's clusters start and finish in order somewhere on the hard drive.

Defragmenter does not delete any files, or change the location of the files on Windows Explorer. It simply rearranges the information that is physically on the hard drive so that it can be accessed faster. If a program is having to search for 100,000 cluster files all over the hard drive, it will take longer to load, whereas if those 100,000 clusters are in one continuous order, it will load faster. That's why people say defragmenting speeds up Windows. That's kind of wrong, but in essence they're correct. It doesn't speed up Windows, it simply speeds up the amount of time it takes to access the files written on your drive.

It is a very good idea to defragment your drive regularly. I do it at least once a week and trust me, it makes a world of difference.
