I also have the beta. but i had to delete it because for some annoying reason it named its partition C: and when i tried to load my origininal vista it crashed because of nvidia driver conflicts.
As for how... Cmon, think about it, where do you download files you shouldnt have:
A)torrents
B)warez sites
C)rapidshare
D)all of the above |

How was it?? Did it work with normal Windows XP/Vista applications? I wana try it but if i format my system put that on there and only be able to play solitaire then i dont want it...

What was leaked is not the beta, it's still pre-beta.
I haven't played around with it too much, but from what I've seen so far I can say:
It looks a lot better than Vista, especially if you hack it to use the new style taskbar.
It seems pretty stable so far, I haven't had any stability issues yet.
It uses a lot less resources than Vista. |

it's at milestone 3 at the minute, latest build I can see on usenet is 6801.
as cheetah said, needs tweaking to have the doskbar (dock+taskbar=doskbar)
though it's still lacking many features and if you installed it as your main OS you would have problems after 3 re-arms (120 days)
it's a fair bit lighter than vista already, netbook manufacturers are planning to use it mid 2009/early 2010

| I formatted my computer and installed Windows 7 yesterday. It runs very well. Only uses 350MB of RAM. It has the Vista feel by using the same amount of resources as XP. Too bad it only lasts a year max, or 120 days without a crack. I guess I'll reformat again in a few months once Windows 7 Beta is out. |
