CPU is the processor lol its not going to do anything to it.... Its not going to mess you up but go to your computer makers website and burn all the drivers to a CD then put the Operating system in and reboot your computer then format the drive before you install make a new portion and install with no worries i've done this a lot of desktops and laptops it wont do anything dont worry. After its done installing just install the drivers and your good to go!

XP wont read drivers of a flash drive
I had the same problem
Every version of xp would give me BSOD when installing
Then i found a program called nLite
You can intergrate drivers in your xp installation Smile
It worked for me, mayb it will also work for you

That'll do fine. Just make sure you at least have a correct networking driver so you can get back on the internet if some other drivers fail.

if your on LAN the original XP driver should do fine but if your wireless you'll need the network driver for your wireless card.

yeah try out the drivers on your current system and see if they work all good if they do then its safe to go into XP. Check the the box that your case was in there might be restoration cd's there. All 5 of my computers came with drivers.

just a tip, make sure in your BIOS settings your first boot device is the cd/dvd drive you're trying to boot the xp installation off. that's only if you can't boot off the disc when trying to install/format.
