CrossFire is a technology designed by ATi, letting users run two ATi cards together as one increasing the frame rate in games. Games on the other hand must support it and be able to run it at high resolutions in order to take advantage of this technology.
Games that are not able to run or support high resolutions will not take advantage of CrossFire as in low resolutions, the processor takes the lead role and not the graphic cards.
CrossFire has 3 types of rendering:
Supertiliing, Scissoring, and AFR (Alterate Frame Rendering)
Supertilting: The workload is divided between the cards in a chessboard like pattern.
Scissoring: The image is split in half horizontally where one cards works on the top half and the other works on the bottom half.
AFR: One card renders all even frames and the other renders all odd frames. Then the image is combined. |

If you go Quad-Core with good 800-1300 mhz RAM (at least 4GB), 2 video cards, and a x64 bit system you wont have to upgrade anything for at least 3-6 years, it depends on how fast technology develops. If they make 12 cored in the next year then yeah a quad core will be junk it really depends on how fast everything develops.

Thanks good to know i wont have to keep an eye on ati or nvidia cuz the leapfroging is getting annoying oh and btw what raid 0 and all the other raids lol |

RAID 0 also know as stripping is to have 2 hard drives run together as one, increasing the performance of the system. RAID 0 provides no protection so if one drive fails you lose data on both drives.
I have a RAID 0 setup on my system and to protect my data I've got 3 additional hdds for backups and one of them is hotlinked to my RAID 0 configuration so what ever I do my files are automatically save to my non-RAID drive.
RAID1 (Mirroring): The duplication of one hard drive to another without user intervention. What's done to one drive will be automatically written to the 2nd drive. It provide protection on a hardware base level not sotware as if one drive got infected with a virus then the virus will automatically be written to then 2nd drive.
Both types of raid requies at least 2 hard drives of the same size.
If one drive is smaller than the other then RAID will setup according to the smallest drive. |

| Thanks i've seen the raid setups metioned a lot so that's good to know. Now, i would build all this by hand but i'm afraid i dont have that kind of time so what company should i use? |

Building a system from the ground up installing the OS + drivers takes around 3 hours. Don't tell me you don't even have 3 hours to spare.
Anyway build it yourself and take your time. There isn't any time limit so no need to rush.
Once your done you may learn a thing or two and even feel a sense of achievement and pride. Plus some bragging rights. |

Before you order double check that everything is right, on my last build i had to send a case back because my motherboard was ATx and case was mini ATx so double check that oh and also make sure you got enough power supply and all your DDR's are correct
