If any of this sounds stupid or any one part is incompatible with another, it's because I'm terrible with hardware; feel free to laugh, as long as you tell me where I went wrong. Anyway, a few questions:

Would I be able to get a cheaper motherboard that is still compatible?

I don't plan to overclock, so I decided to go dual core instead of quad, as I've heard that quad core is only worth it if you're going to overclock. Is this going to make much of a difference in games like Crysis (Warhead) and FarCry 2, and if so, for better or worse?

Would I be able to sacrifice on the case / cooling to get it cheaper and still keep it running smoothly?

And lastly, will this be able to run Crysis (Warhead) at high with at least 4x AA at at least 24FPS on average at 1680x1050, and FarCry 2 at ultra high with at least 30FPS on average? I would go for an 8800GT but my current computer has one and I know for a fact that AA in Crysis causes massive performance loss and I've heard that the 9800GT is pretty much the same as an 8800GT but with improved performance with AA and shaders.

For gaming go for DUALCORE, not quad. Don't listen to the fucktard.

Also you wont get any preformance difference between 8800GT and 9800GT/GTX/GTX+.
Get ATI, 4850/4870.

That mobo is out of date, and not the best board in the first place.
Get a Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L.

And for the best prices in Australia, I can't go past http://www.staticice.com.au/.

CM 690: $~918

I'd personally go with the 690, and spend a bit more on either PSU or up to a 4870.

Thanks heaps, Frostbyt3. I will go for the EP45-DS3L and the Coolermaster CM690 case with a 460W PSU, and get the Maxtor HDD instead of Seagate. I'll stick to 2GB RAM for now.
