did you:
overclock?
add volts?
turn down CPU fan speed?
if not idk what else would make it get hotter _________________

| 60c is perfectly safe. As others have said, the temperature will increase when the CPU is under load. If you really wanted to you could increase the fan speed in the BIOS, but it's unnecessary. |

I currently have a 9600GT. Its only got a rubbish stock assembly, and no doubt its dust-ridden now, but it gets up to 80c at times, and thats with a rivatuner fan profile ensuring its running at max fan speed at that temp. And it runs stably enough. Unless you're getting side-effects I wouldn't worry too much at that.

Probably because you have dust in your case...
If your temperature DOES NOT rise when you play a game, you should be worried. _________________

Take the fan off and put some Thermal Gel on it. I had same problem with my CPU, it was running 30-45C and when playing games it jumped to 60-80. I took the fan off and there was like a dot of thermal gel on there I got this gel (http://www.compusa.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=480215&csid=_25) and now it plays games at 50-55C on high settings. MAKE SURE YOU NEED SOME BEFORE YOU BUY MAYBE THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH SOMETHING ELSE, TAKE THE FAN OFF FIRST AND SEE WHATS GOING ON. _________________

| Question. Did you're old/last PSU squeel or make strange noises when under load? |
