I set up a virtual machine and I installed tinyXP but I don't know how to set up internet or access a folder on my pc which I've set to share with the VM

Why don't you just use MS virtual PC 2007, it's free and extreme ease to use.
Want to access a folder from your PC?
Just drag that folder to the VM and that's it.

I've just always used VMWare. The workstation version is also still free I do believe. A well coded piece of software, works great. And very popular too, so support-a-plenty

When you are doing installing a Virtual OS in VM 2007, click on Actions and
install the VM Additions package or else the drag and drop won't work.

sorted it thanks.
uses less RAM than Virtualbox did too
VB put my RAM usage upto 2Gb with tinyxp on it
windows vm only bumps it up to 1.3Gb with the same tinyxp install
