The ones I've listed got gpus belonging to tier 1 level, but that's way over your budget so from the list of notebooks you picked out.

I went with the 8600M GT since it's got better performance than a
9600M GS.

I will ask this for the fifth time, WHICH OF THE ONES I PICKED OUT SHOULD I GET?

Do you have problems reading my previous post?!

Gateway P-7811 FX

It's a little over your budget ($250 more when on sale every other week) but it pwns all those other laptops. It's 2x more powerful than a laptop with a 9600M GT and almost 4x as powerful as a laptop with a 9400M GS. The processor is a 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo, released in June 2008, so it's the latest mobile Intel processor. It can max out all games pre-2007, excluding Crysis. However, you get like 30 FPS on Crysis on medium at a resolution of 1900x1200 (the screen's resolution).

I own one of these and it's the best bang for your bucks gaming laptop. An Alienware or XPS laptop with these specs will cost you at least $2000.
