After using different burning programs, Nero IMHO is still one of the best with the most features.

NTI-crap
Prassi-Crap
Sonic-Super Crap
Roxio-Was good then went downhill (really like version 5)
Roxio Lite (Windows built in)-it's alright

You could try replacing your CD/DVD burner. If you can't afford to do that, try a new pack of CDs.
