Just recently I was installing an antivirus program and i obtained another virus -_-. Apparently the antivirus program was a fake and i didn't realize that at the time, so by the time it was downloaded it was too late. Spybot SD detected that a certain virus was trying to change the UserInit in my registry, but i blocked it and hit remember this decision. Now, i get over 100 popups in less than 10 minutes from Spybot about how its blocking this action. I want to know how i'm able to track this virus and delete it so that the popups stop appearing and the UserInit remains safe. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I'm currently running on XP.

Well delete the fake antivirus software and maybe install a legit one?
Without an AV, I don't think there's any way to track the virus
unless it's the fake antivirus software..

Thanks slovach. It might have been a virus related to that, but that was not the name when i first saw it.The virus is gone, thank you very much.
