I know, just another excuse to inflate specs and not bring anything to the real world. I've never used a monitor with that feature, but both of my projectors have similar features, one dims the bulb and one has a mechanical iris. I can't see a bit of difference comparing them on/off, and from a technical standpoint it only works if the entire image is dark.

I wouldn't advise a 22" panel. Same resolution as their 20" counterparts, so the image is just stretched, no point for that in a monitor.
@OP
It's up to you whether fast response or deep color is more important. I just switched to a professional VA panel and the color and contrast are good enough to make me never want to use a TN panel again. Realistically, a modern VA panel should have good enough response time, and if you're going to invest that much money in a monitor you don't wanna buy a crap TN panel.

| I'd very much recommend the Dell 2408WFP (or the Dell 2407WFP or WFP-HC). Me and my father both own a 2407WFP - he immediately bought one after seeing mine and being so impressed with its quality. My brother has a 2407WFP-HC. I'd have to say that they are excellent monitors.

How about both fast response and deep color? 
And what monitor did you purchase that seemed to have made you never to buy a TN panel again?
And really, deep color, hmm, what's that generally beneficial for?
Graphical designs & etc? If so, I'm going to be doing some, but not much.
Therefore, fast response rates for gaming is what I'm after, although, overall, pretty much both a fast response rate and good color reproductions.
Still thinking & not sure what to purchase yet.

Please don't be those guys who go for cheap =D. What you really want is a LCD that has quality and performance not some peice of shit gheto LCD that will die within a year. I perferably like Philips and LG. =]

VA panels have the worst response time, but yes they look good.
TN will always have the best response time, and likely be the cheapest by a good amount.

I suppose I'd have to go with the TN panels then, right?
Because, I'd be really frequently gaming than doing graphics stuff.
And I don't want gaming lag/input lag whilst gaming. How bad it is, would depend on the game too, right? And possibly the FPS rate?

suggest to get the 19 - inch samung one (series 4) i had the 22 inch one and it was to big made me dizzy. the samsun ones i recommend because they have hdmi and pc input , so u can plaug in ur xbox360 or ps3 in also.
