I assume you mean insane. Nonetheless... I have a lot of porn to store
I watch a lot of TV from my PC - I tend to buy a box set and rip the episodes as separate MPEGs. I also store most of my music library in WAV/FLAC format as MP3 puts my eardrums in so much pain I get complaints from the Jedi Knights.

*Knocks on GODFATHERS door*
Sir, it seems that someone in your house has downloaded 1.5TB of movies. We have an order for your arrest and a warrant to search your house and seise all of your hard drives.
- FBI enters the sons room -
"Son! I can't believe you would do this! Now i am sentenced to 10 years in prison and a 50 million dollar fine!"
Anyway, i will probably get a 1TB hard drive soon enough. Possibly this 1.5TB since the price/gb ratio is GREAT!

Yep, and have 4.5TB of unstable storage, so when one drive dies or there's a cache error, all the data is lost. No thanks.

does RAID make your HDD more likely to have problems? because i've never had a HDD fail on me luckily.
though i guess even if there's a small chance i wouldn't want to risk 4.5TB of important stuff

Actually, you need a 5 million terabyte hard drive to do that.

No, RAID by definition will make things fault tolerant in the failure of a drive, and there's many different RAID levels. RAID 0 however doesn't really fit into the definition of RAID, and will lose data if any drive fails.
