it's not so good, alot of parts are unbranded and i think the gfx is a 9600gt or similar
it wont be playing it on max settings though i'm quite sure

Have you read recent previews on it? Word is that it will run decently on max settings on that computer, and this is from numerous sources.

I have a feeling that this is a bit of a publicity stunt - they will have just optimised the game heavily for that hardware setup in order to get it to run how they said it would.

Correct.

Hopefully the new Crysis will at least be coded more efficiently than the previous one though.
