|
I think that there is something wrong with my browser. Starting yesterday, I haven't been able to download any .exe's with my Firefox browser, and no files with my IE. I have IE 7 and Firefox 3.
For IE it comes up with an error saying that my 'Security settings do not allow files to be downloaded.' But the thing is, I haven't changed my settings in the time that it was working to when it stopped.
For Firefox, it says 'this file has been blocked by your Security Zone Policy' whenever i download an .exe, but I haven't changed the settings here either, and they both started yesterday.
I've tried resetting the default settings for both IE and Firefox, but neither have worked. The main problem is that I can't re-download either browser because they are all .exe's...
If anybody could send me a .Rar with IE.exe and firefox.exe that would be helpful, along with any info on why it won't work.

it's probably got to do with your antivirus blocking .exe's.

Well it could be your AV settings or if you did an update sometime around the time the errors started coming up it could be a update changed your IE settings to check those...
Code: |
Open IE and Go into the tools menu bar...
Click on Internet Options...
Click on the Security Tab...
Click on the Internet Icon then click Coustom Level...
Look for File Download and see if it is enabled or disabled....
Make sure it is Enabled.
|
If it was enabled then it would be your AV or a program like a virus stopping you from downloading anything.

Change your security settings then dah!
Tools-->Security
also check your AV & firewall.
And make sure you are an administrator.
