the firewall on smart security is a pain in the ass...
when you first install it, it has it on automatic mode and you have to manually set it to interactive mode.

I have never gotten a virus. I'll give it credit. But it lags my computer horribly when I scan for a virus or when it updates itself. This is when a multi-core would come in handy. I need to upgrade my PC soon. I'm using one core. With half a gig of RAM. Not to mention the hard drive spins somewhere in the negatives lol.

Get TinyXP. I'm running the same specs you are. Single core proc and 512 ram. I have a gig coming in as a gift, but shit'll still suck. IGP. eh...
Well. Get TinyXP. 32~40MB use first run.
Also, no antivirus. If I need to use one, Kaspersky Internet Security 2009.

I use a combination of Norton, NOD32 (full suite) and and Trend Micro
2008. Lol.
