Would be useful for running a large RAID config, Quad SLI, multi-core multi-cpu rig with a shit ton of active cooling and a full sized Ferris wheel.

But seriously, try out http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine with some ridiculous builds. My theoretical build using 4x Intel QX9650's and SLI'd GTX 280's, 8 SCSI 15k rpm drives + RAID controller, 4 combo disk drives, TV tuner, and 4 80mm fans, 2 120mm fans (all hi perfomance), comes out to a reccomended about 1500 watts.

I'll just leave this here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882155227&Tpk=monster%20dryer

Back on topic, I think this PSU is pretty much the king of price/performance and would handle most any reasonable setup:

Single rail ftw.

This thing might be radioactive. Shocked

Great a nice pair of Gloves, but a cheap .2 cents screw driver.
As for those modular cables, I'm wondering if they are directly plugged in or do you have to plugged it in and twist it to lock up like those BNC cables?

even if you used a 5000W PSU if your system only needs 300W it will only use 300W...

Hmm... that may not be good because if someone is doing cable management and accidently yanks it out, they might break it.
Other modular psu has a tab lock like those you see on the ATX and 12v connectors you use for your motherboard.

I was watching Attack of the Show last night on G4TV. They were showing a computer that runs with 2 power suppys at once. Here is the link:

Having a system with 2 power supplies is nothing new or too excited to be about if it can't do hot swapping. In the workstation/server environment they've already got dual psu or triple psu. The advantage with them psu is their redudant and hot swapable. What that means is you can actually change your power supply without physically powering off your system. All you have to do is pull out the bad psu and plug in a new one.

Here's an sample (image credit to Newegg)

BTW did you post the wrong link?

I don't have to worry about ripping cables out, I'm patient and steady. I just like the lights plus it's modular.

Since you like lights, then my prediction would be the sound card you already have or planning to get is this sound card from Asus.

PC&C don't have modular psu because they said modular ones are not good. Also their the only one that still using a single 12v rail instead of multiple 12v.
