|
|
For the life of me, i cant get CE to use my pointers
DB maybe you can help on this one.
My pointers are good and work perfect. But my game is code shifting. So my base pointer looks something like this game.exe+1234 and the static base shifts every reboot.
But CE's trainer maker doesnt write it like that. It adds the base and offset together. Trainer works untill next reboot.
Same thing happens when i copy it to a fresh CE. Adds the base+offset.
All i want is it to write it exactly how i have it.
Scripts are out of the question for this one.
I really really hope someone can help me on this one. Im stumped

have you tried waiting 10 seconds after opening the game and the trainer ?
If it can't find the modulename at start it waits 10 seconds and then looks it up again and repeats till it finds it
Also, try posting such a trainer here so I can look at it

Yeah i'v waited 10sec. I dont think the trainer is using the module.
The base addy for all 26 pointers is halo2.exe+4E461C but when i copy it somewhere else it turns to this 300AFBE6 or something like it.
I dont understand why its turning into 300AFBE6. I know the base is shifting but nothing close to that. The module is hidden most of the time and reads 30000000
Im also using vista and noticed i cant even write a script without CE being connected to the process. So im gonna dual boot XP and see if i can create my trainer from there.
This sample trainer is for the pointers.
This game is a nightmare to train. But very good practice!

ah vista, yes I noticed some people have trouble with the modulename part there (I use xp myself and only occasionally test in vista)
I'll look at that trainer and see if it at least stores the modulename properly
edit:
The 'interpretable address' field is filled in properly so the trainer should make use of that. So nothing wrong with the generation of the trainer.
Only thing might be is that the trainer is missing the manifest that says it requires full admin rights (Like CE)
Try running the trainer as administrator and see if that makes a difference
And halo2.exe+4E461C changing to 300AFBE6 is just weird. No idea why it'd do that (could be a copy/paste bug or deeper in the modulelist retrieval, but then I'd think that giving as address halo2.exe+4E461C and then choosing browse this address would also go to 300AFBE6 )

Well im glad its filled in properly. Thank for looking DB! I run them all with admin rights but almost like it doesnt have any at all. It will activate but do nothing to the address after a pc reboot. (before is fine)
Yet when ran in CE works perfect for me and a friend who is using it.
I seriously do believe it has something to do with vista. I'v used CE 5.4 on xp and it behaves differently on vista.
I installed a virtual xp but just my luck, my card reader isnt recognized and sharing folders does nothing. lol
I'll waste a CD for 5mb and see what happens.
PS, what did you use to disassemble the trainer.
