Hey, my friend is offering me a Dedicated Quad-core server on a reliable line for 108USD/month (+escrow fees)... Should i go for it or are there better fish in the sea?

it depends on what you want. If you just want to play around with php and do very simple php scripts and only expect one visitor an hour, then I suggest something cheaper/less heavy

Dark Byte, it is for a site that is suspected to get very popular and have a lot of queries on our 7zipped flat file databases.

My friend got the dedicated server from hivelocity, same as you Very Happy

That was the plan. This website is one of kind, no one has what we have anywhere else on the internet. So i expect it to get big... We have to use a high performance computer cluster in the first place just to make the database.
