CoD1 was the best imo, with CoD2 being close.
CoD4 tried to cater more to console idiots, and suffered as a result.
Why can't more game devs be Valve? They even personally answer email. Hell, once upon a time, I emailed Gabe Newell asking for a locket of his chest hair.
I was later mailed a a signed letter, and a GI-Joe which is probably close to a foot tall.

CoD: UO was pretty good also.
Still liked CoD2 the best.
