I start it and all (dx9) it shows that intro movie then either when its done or i press esc it says this program has stopped working.

Im pretty sure I meet the requirements for the game.

the game was torrented, I dont know if its because of that or what, but the comments on it had people saying it worked.

Maybe the DRM chip in your laptop is doing its thing and preventing you from playing pirated games.
