lets say theres a mouse driver. it got the left click input from the mouse, and now it needs to tell the computer a click was sent. how is this done? ive tried using SendInput and mouse_event, but winapi's cannot be imported in kernel drivers. i can only import ntddk.h. im using wdk version 6 (the latest). also, is there any way to debug or decompile drivers?
last thing, is there are guide or tut to driver coding? its really interesting, but i cant find anything.

the ddk contains a mouse filter and driver example, check it out.
it's a device driver though, so it contains the whole mouse driver code and is rather complex
