i was to buy a computer with onboard GFX... would i be able to put a nvidia card in there or is the onboard stuff permanent?
i ask because i have seen a really good computer at a good price, its only downfall is the onboard GFX

Guessing: All motherboards have some onboard VGA. Placing a card into the PCI-E will override it.

ok so... plug in new card, go to bios and turn off onboard GFX?

Ya and set it to the PCI or w.e Graphic card slot u have
Dont forget the drivers you need to install after you boot it up
