If you're looking for desktops, they're really cheap. Get one that has 6 GB of RAM, at least 2.8Ghz Quad Core, and Nvidia 9000 series or GTX series or ATI Radeon 4700 series. You can upgrade stuff if you want, but that build costs less than $1000.

you mean $2000.

^^ I saw this one laptop that had a pretty awesome graphics card.

If he wanted to buy a desktop he probably would have said it. He has his reasons for picking this ( wants to take it on a Plane, car trip to the beach with the kids, etc).....

I also like the Toshiba laptops... and I dont really like BestBuy, since they use fakse advertising in their names...

Also, there is not a ton of room to put in a fan x.x Most of the time laptop CPUs and parts are made for heat.

Fucking thank you.

I'll I fucking asked is what brands do you reccomend and what else I should upgrade.

"Oh, get a desktop"

"Laptops aren't ment for hardcore gaming"

"Get a Desktop".

If you had the money, I'm sure $10 million would buy you Bill Gate's laptop. Intel Core 8 Octo @ 5.1 Ghz per core, 64GB of RAM running Windows 7 Ultimate x128 Gates Edition, 16 TB 40,000 RPM hard drive, Nvidia HTX 9900 with 16GB of dedicated graphics memory, 2048-bit memory width + 160GB/sec memory bandwidth, 20 inch diagonal screen 10 centimeters thin, and it operates silently generating almost no heat and weighs only 1/2 a pound.

Not to mention it will pwn the shit out of any game, getting over 5,000 FPS on all 2008 games.

You only get alienware if you know nothing about computers.
They charge 350$ to put in 4 gigs of ram.
They overcharge to upgrade your CPU when compared to Sager.
They charge 300$ when upgrading from a 160GB 5400RPM HD to a 500GB 5400PPM HD, while Sager only charges 175$.

They are a horrible company to buy from. They overcharge for nearly everything, and any one with any knowledge of how to buy and install your own components should do so, rather than to have to deal with that price gouging.

That's the same with all companies dude. Alienware just charges a little bit more because of it's name. You can trust it, that's all. You pay for the effort to build it and the trust that it will come to you 100% perfect and capable of what it listed.

I know its the same with all companies, but Alienware just takes it to the extreme.
Sager charges 60$ to upgrade from 2GB to 4GB of Ram, which is very reasonable if you ask me.
And Sager is well known as well, their laptops are very solidly built.
Hell, I've dropped by NP9262, which weighs 12lbs, from 3.5ish feet before. Stupid thing slid off my bed. And all that happened was that one of the corners now has a little amount of the plastic case missing.

If you were a "hardcore gamer," you would know that you should stay away from Alienware.

It's too overpriced.

Well then its either they are rich or just plain stupid.

You can build a computer off iBUYPOWER or CyberPowerPC that is equal to the preformance of an alienware for $400-$900 dollars less.

Dude swear to God. You just quoted him. You don't understand here do you? He's not looking to build a computer or buy a desktop. He wants a gaming laptop. And hands down, Alienware is the best. He never had a budget or anything -.-
