The MSDN has more then enough info for using each of the Win32 API. Most people just don't bother reading things and quickly say "I don't understand it..." while the info there is very clear and informative.

And it has been posted all over, but if you need more information I suggest a book. Online tuts will not, and can not teach you everything. |

Actually, it's the other way around.
Books are usually outdated, so it's better to find things that you need on the internet.

interlibrary loan << get (new) books even if your libary doesn't have em.
And please dont suggest to noobs they dont need to read. I find newer functions online after I learn the language. (the noob population is bad enough) lol |

I like online tutorials because I don't get tired from reading 'em. Books always make me my eyes tired and me sleepy.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying.
It takes a long time to write a book, get edited, get published, be put out, etc, so any book you find is going to have some factor of being outdated.
There is no way that a book can be on top of EVERYTHING so far.
For online? All it takes is a click (edit), 30 minutes of typing (if that), and another click (submit), and bam, you've got yourself an updated tutorial. This is factoring out the research from both the books and the tutorials.

Did I ever say that?
One should most definitely read if one is to do well with programming. I simply stated that one should not read books.

Also, this has just been my personal experience, but tutorials online usually teach things better than books.
Want a little bit of reasoning?
Say we've got Person A, who just wrote a book.
Person B just wrote a web-tut on the same post, with the exact same information, placed the exact same way (yeah, copyright infringement shit, but this is just for example).
Let's say that they both have a few errors here and there, e.g. code doesn't compile, because of something, bad practice (not an error, but yeah), etc.
Person B can simply get emailed and he/she would just go change the tut to fix that up. Bam, done, any new readers will not have to learn a bad way, any old readers who stumble upon the site again, could see the change log and realize something.
How might someone do that with a book? Huge ass rollback? That would cost a shit load of money, and what,just for a few errors here and there? To them it isn't worth it--they just leave it like it is. Anyone else who buys the book after that still learns bad material.

| Well my personaly experience is read a book, and if you are going to be programming for a job, yes you will need to. But do whatever works best... (P.S. some languages are outdated =D) |
