Linux is not really a hacking OS in the sense of, attack, destroy and delete...
Hack used to mean fixing an open-source application to make it better faster stronger etc...
Now it has been twisted into the media to mean attack destroy and delete...
Linux is could about the old version of hacking since almost all of the applications are open-source and are allowed for redistrubution...
Linux COULD be good for hacking into systems because someone invented BackTrack3 a linux distroy 
Windows would probably be the best hacking OS for script kiddies.

Oh, god, please do not bring that up....
Linux is considered a "hacking" OS because of the large degree of freedom you have over the OS itself.
Like Bam! said, the traditional meaning of hack was to improve upon something that you think was bad, and now it means to just fuck around with shit.

Yep, the tradition meaning of hack was to improve upon something you think was bad.
Nowadays, it means to invade another host.
In this forum, it means to edit addresses, offsets, whatever.
And why shouldn't i bring that up?

Because you are just a jerk who does that. Keyboards aren't perfectly aligned with fingers, and maybe he's just a kid who is just learning how to type, or maybe he just screwed up a little bit. Don't be a freak about every little spelling mistake. It was one mistake out of 50 words he wrote. Plus the fact that you just did that as a single post is annoying because you just went out of your way to point it out instead of answering his question.
Linux is not really considered a hacking OS. It's just used to reconfigure stuff and to have an easier time messing with open sources.
Oops, Bam said what I just said, sorry. I agree with him then.

Lunix and Linux are two completely different things. It wasn't a spelling error, he used the wrong term entirely. Don't flame people if you don't even understand the situation.

Linux is a kernel and used in Linux Distros ( Ubuntu, Gentoo, Debian all those things)...
Lunix is Little UNIX... big big big difference...
Basically, waxxup is wrong by saying little unix and the original poster is fine...
LUNIX DOES NOT EQUAL LINUX
LINUX IS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT>
