| Depends on your other hardware. If the HDD is a bottle neck, then go for the 10k RPM one, else the 7.2k should be enough.

Well, the raptor (10k RPM) is faster, but comes at a higher cost, and less storage space.
The 32mb cache 7200rpm HD is cheaper, has more space, but in return is slower than the raptor since it's RPMs are lower...

It's always the common question of speed versus power. Sacrifice the speed of 10k RPM for the storage and hardware of 7200 or the other way around.

Slovach is right. I think 7200Rpm's is nice, You don't need a 10k Rpm drive.
if you want speed raid 0/1 it.

RAID won't give you better seek times, which is the primary benefit of the Raptor over the other drives.
I have used many 10k and 15k drives over the years, and they definitely make the system far more responsive, and the Raptor is no exception.
However, you're losing 600GB of storage, and a $40 cost increase by going with the Raptor, so it's up to you if speed or storage is more important.
