western digital and seagate are fine

9800GTX for a little more

and as for the monitor, I'd say go with a 20.1"

I'd order it before the sale ends.

Definitely go with the Q6600, even if 2.4 isn't enough, that CPU overclocks easily to 3.0.

Although nowadays the GHz isn't the only thing that makes a CPU good, it still makes that the most valued one of all the quad cores.

i suggest 250 Gigs

for prices: personally, im waiting till black friday to buy my first PC. im only 14, with barely any money, so im gonna wait a couple months for the prices to change and technology to develop before making the decision for the next 3-4 years.

If you're planning to overclock, the low multiplier (7.5) will really get in your way. Also, the P35 motherboard doesn't support the quad-45nm technology, so you can't even use it in the first place.

For the graphics card, just wait a few days. With the release of the 4850 and 4870, prices should be heavily pushed down.

Oh wow, by then there will be plenty of new things to buy, and everything we have mentioned will be obsolete for your price range.
