why do you want 4 PCI slots?

Also, almost every motherboard can handle 4gb... some 8gb... Smile

2 to 4gb of Crucial Ballistix RAM sounds good for you.

Have you picked out an exact processor yet?

Well after looking around, I found out what a PCI express is.
So I guess I would only need 2, one for my wireless card and one for w/e ells.
I know I would like to upgrade my graphic card, but I can just use the one that is in my computer now until i save up a little more.
Like I said, I would like a graphic card with 2 monitor outputs.

As for a processor, I would like an Intel 2.5GHz+ one, not sure which would be best tho.

1) Dont refer to clockspeed (2.5ghz+) as a measurement of its speed...

2) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037

Thats a Core 2 Duo ( 180ish dollars)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017

Thats a Quad Core (200ish dollars)

Fuck the Dual core, get the quad core.

The socket has to have an LGA775 socket or something compatable i think...

Newegg is really newb friendly, it usually says "Quad Core/Dual Core/Core Core" in the description.

That means, it supports these, but it may support more than these.

I am about 90 percent sure 100 percent of this might work Smile

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=40000280&Description=LGA+775&name=Intel+Motherboards

If you see one you like, post back and i can confirm if it will work.

I am nearly 100% sure any of these will work.

Of the list, get either the GA-EP35-DS3L or the Abit IP-35 Pro if it will fit in your budget.

For the graphics card, I recommend the 9600GT or the 8800GT.

Oh ok, that seems to make more sense.
Now are there any disk drive you would suggest?
Nothing fancy, just to burn DVDs and CDs.

Oh and thank you for all the help, +rep.

EDIT:
Would this RAM work?

Seems good to me...

For the CD drive... you can really not go terribly wrong. And even if you do... its only going to be 20 dollars. Pick something you like and post back.

Just want to clarify a few things, this drive can burn and read CDs and DVDs, correct?

And how would I go about choosing a power source, how do I figure out how much voltage I need?

Usually in power supplies, it is more important to see the wattage rather than the voltage. A 400W-500W PSU should suffice, and there's still room for expansion.

BTW: ZipZoomFly is selling a 500GB hard drive for $70. Some other members say that Western Digital is better than Seagate, that's believable, but I happen to own neither (Maxtor hard drives are good, the 5 that I have still work perfectly).

One thing, your Power Supply is probably the most vital part... and if you want room for expansion, or some head room to be safe, i would get this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371002

Or if you want so much head room, its like a midget in a dining hall:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371001

If you get the first one, youll be good. The second one, and you'll be excellent. Either one is great. Seeing as your on a budget, go for the first one.

Even at 400W, you can (at least I can) add a second hard drive, a high end graphics card, and a wireless add on card. But it's really close (a few watts to spare, but they are measured at TDP).
