I fully agree with Ajax except in one thing. Yes, Vista does come close to being a perfect OS (at least Ultimate, which I am using), and yes, it does have a few cons . However, I don't see where this "most of them are useless" idea comes from. May I inform you that, just because you don't use something, it is not useless, merely uninteresting for you. Ok, so some things are more useful than others, but it has always been like this. I understand that you may find some of the "newer bells and whistles" quite basic and pointless, but I remind you that an OS is not only aimed towards a specific set of users with a certain ammount of computer knowledge, but towards EVERYONE who uses a computer and who may decide to use it instead of another OS for one reason or another. In other words, any OS has to include a selection of tools and applications for all users of all levels of ICT ability, not just for experts or "noobs", and of course, taking that in count, there is always going to be problems with each user who finds many of the things available useless, when, merely, they are not intended for his/her level of ability.

No Vista is not a great OS. It's not even a fairly good OS, Microsoft's only chance is that gamers really want to use DX 10. There's no other reason to even steal vista. The UAC is just a big fuck you to every windows user. Microsoft have tried to keep the number of Vista computers which are already infected hidden but I've heard that it's a huge amount.

Sure, ready boost is a nice feature but with windows xp you wouldn't even be forced to use it. Aero Glass and crap is just for old people who have no experience with computers and finds that cool. Do you know the amount of RAM that vista uses? They say that Vista is optimised for your gaming needs. By the way Visa DID copy Mac OS X.. take a look at this video and you will understand http://youtube.com/watch?v=UU88eKlBvCQ

Aren't you the kid who ripped some other guy's tutorial and then tried to claim you were him?

Oh yeah sure, Vista's only new aspect worthy of praise is DirectX 10, you do realize that the main reason DirectX has advanced so much on Vista is because of the new inherent GPU acceleration, as can be seen with the Aero interface. The fact that you're oblivious to this shows your complete ignorance and trolling on the anti-Vista tirades.

UAC is proven to be more effective than any anti-virus. The fact of the matter is that neither you nor any layman will be able to distinguish a virus and Vista's UAC is well-reputed for catching malware. You're doing nothing but trolling, you know nothing about how UAC acts. I would prefer security over a minor annoyance.

Also the Aero interface is completely optional and intuitive and on-par with XP's UI if not better. Lastly, the RAM issue isn't a real concern unless you're living in 2000, Vista was not designed for out-dated computers. Most people seem like they have the right to argue about how compatible Vista is but they're completely oblivious of the fact that Vista isn't meant to support older computers. Although I'm sure you weren't old enough to remember when XP was just released, I highly suggest you look at the backlash from the general tech-savvy community in regards to system requirements.

I won't bother replying to you again, you've shown again and again throughout your posts that you're a liar and a charlatan, you're not worth my time and I find it incredibly disgusting that you have the audacity to misinform somebody to further your social status' agenda.

You just talk about things that people don't have enough knowledge about to correct you. You're wrong about so many things but when a user proves you wrong you call an moderator and have them banned. You are a loser, a so called "noob". If the UAC is better than any Anti Virus how come that people which have been using it still have their computer infected? You don't understand an IAT hook and you don't understand Vista. Don't bother to reply just absorb the message.

Personally, i prefer XP over Vista. Vista is better aesthetically looking than XP, but is a rip off of Mac's gui. From dealing with my freind's computer that is a vista, there are tons of annoying little things it does. Xp doesn't have that many annoying things compared to what I've seen in Vista. So I choose XP

If you're bothered about any hardware limitations then Vista is obviously not for you, Vista wasn't designed for deprecated and outdated hardware.

Vista caches applications in your RAM, therefore, you need 2GB of RAM to run Vista well
Aero effects take more-than-integrated graphics and fast CPUs to power
Price is higher than XP

I would not buy Vista now, because like XP, it was flawed at the beginning. Soon it should get better, but by then, Windows 7 might be released.

I'm using Vista Home Premium, because it came on my computer. I think it's quite good, but there are many little things it does, like Agent007 said.
I think I would downgrade to XP.

UAC is fuckign annoying...
I had to disable it to get half my shit running
!!!

It may be annoying but it will say: "A program is trying to delete hal.dll",
when some retard tries to delete your hal.dll.

If you try to delete hal.dll, a confirmation message comes up. Wink
he just said that>_>

So you're telling me that running Windows 3.1 is still a completely viable option?

if you want security from malwares etc. use Linux
if you want an everyday 'do anything' PC use XP
if you like the looks use Vista or MAC Razz

i will never upgrade to vista untill absolutely necessary, and im guessing that wont be for a VERY long time. The reason is, XP works fine for me and uses less resources Smile if somethings not broke, why fix it?

i dual boot xp and vista and i have all my games installed on xp. Vista is just to watch movies since it has windows media center and to test out new things. Booting and shutting down vista beats xp by half or more. I like vista and i like xp. But i dont want to single boot so i choose dual booting. Very Happy

If your a gamer then I sugest u get Vista Ultimate 64 bit. Or any other is fine because only vista has Direx 10 and new games are gonna start coming out on ONLY Direx 10. But dont get it unless you have more then 2 GB of ram as some1 mentioned.

Hope I helped Wink

vista is only good if you know what services to turn off that are unneeded.
