It's harder for a laptop to get dust, but computers can get dust by the vents on the side of them that release the hot air. Anything that doesn't move or air past through it can get dust.

Not true, it makes it harder for the computer to run and making it overheat more, and eventually ruin it..... but you will need a lot of fucking dust. Clean it every 4 months or less.
Anyone could run on a 50gb computer, In-fact if you download games, delete the least one you played... no need for 340gb. Just look at my computer... NEVER has been full before.
50GB of my memory is stored in another disk drive for system restores. (ACRONIS)

You think I'm wrong?
If even a speck of dust lands on the hard disk, there is a good chance it will fuck the drive up.
It causes the head or the arm of the head to hit it, which will then cause damage to the disk and make it inoperable.

Maybe your hard drive is damaged...or your computers CORE some parts of it is damaged...
so you better check them first... they might be the reason why ur computer keep crushing.. |

First of all, no, the 'air' is not mostly dust.
Second of all, if you would have noticed, I've been talking about the HARD DISK itself. If the hard disk is exposed, then yes, it would do what I've said.

| The air is mostly dust, thats why you have air filters in your house because some dust could hurt you.... tell me take a light and you will see theres a bunch of hair and dirt..... which stacks up and forms as dust. Since nothing is PURE OXYGEN... a spec a dust would not kill the hard disk.... Either way air enters the HD. |

That has no proof that a spec of natural air will kill a HD.
Its called a figure of speech.... oh even a smallest BIT of dust will make it crash....
I think you need to read that dust is in AIR ALWAYS.

so tell me whats a small bit of dust? A hair follicle.... the fact is the air is mainly dust and whether you like it or not there is dust in your HD... just a few... When it becomes visible it is a problem. |

Your being hella literal dude. So what if it isn't a speck of dust. Maybe two specks of dust. You are just carrying a pointless conversation. And the air isn't filled of dust. If you really tried the light shining on thing, if it was filled with dust, you could barely see it. I can clearly see each particle, and there isn't that much. Maybe you just live in a place where it's dustier, but I don't. And you didn't answer my question. I know how PCs and Laptops work. I was talking about if the hard drive was enclosed, meaning that it is covered in some kind of external armor, how can a speck of dust get in, and that was aimed at madman.
