| Okay so far, i've coded a server and a client. I have them connect to default, 127.0.0.1. and message sendin works. But then i tried hosting the server, and sent a edited client to a friend that would connect to my ip, & port. But it didnt work out, anyone know what i can do to fix it?

You're like saying, "Oh I bought this new RC plane and I switched on the controller and fiddled the controls but it didn't move, fix it please"...
Posting out your source would help. One likely problem would be firewalls...

Usually there is a firewall on the router.

Open the port the server is listening on.
Go into your router-interface (http://192.168.2.1 for me) and open the port (TCP most likely).

| Go to www.portforward.com and pick you're router model from the list. Choose a random game, it doesn't matter what game. Look at the instructions, and it will tell you for example how to open port 12345 for game xxx, so change that into the port you're program uses and follow the instructions.
