Of course, I do tend to mix up the voices in my head with the voice of god
But for the real answer:
To prevent idiots from using CE. If they think it has a virus, they will not use it, and thus will not ask me stupid questions about it. (Since people that believe it has a virus are generally to dumb to use it)
Of course, the downside is that every now and then a question like thios pops up, but at least it amuses us all. Just like watching a child asking about the tooth fairy

All I have ever had flag up as a 'possible virus' was one file in the program directory after install. I think it was "systemcallsignal.exe", but none of them are gonna shaft anyones machine  Good AV teams will take such things off their sig database after a short while as its a false-positive. Ahh...

definition of virus: A piece of code that replicates itself in order to spread to other systems
CE does NOT contain any self replicating code

but it does show as a virus. the reason of which Dark Byte explained earlier.
