Okay, so I fucked up my computer and I had to reformat and everything and now I can't connect to the internet. Can someone guide me through making a LAN? I'm trying to connect through Linksys.

Open your Internet Explorer or whatever...
Go to Tools> Internet Options> Connections
If you have a proxy fill in the details and the port.
Otherwise...
Right Click on "My Computer"> Device Manager
Now look for your internet (network drivers), if it has an error message on it (which it probable will if its not working) go...
Right Click> Properties.
If you know what your is click on it, it will install stuff, you are done then.
Now try the internet.

I donno really much about it anymore. I haven't used a LAN connection in several years. Why don't you call support though? I think they can give an extremely detailed step-by-step to set up a LAN connection.

I'm using a router. Is it bad to have a router?
My next question would be, can I detect drivers that aren't installed on my computer?

I really prefer LAN to wireless if I had the choice.

| Is it bad to have a router you say? To explain it simply, a router basically acts as a physical firewall. So being behind a router whether it be wireless or not is a good thing. In fact if your behind a router you virtually do not need to have a system firewall active (I do not recommend disabling it ever though because its just a theoretically stated phrase).

| Always get the drivers before you re-format.. You will need the ethernet driver, or simply... just download all the drivers that has a yellow question mark on it.

Hmm.. I hope I can find the drivers and I had to reformat my computer because boot.ini was fucked. T.T
Off topic: I see you have your old avatar zyndr0m. xD
Edit2: Also, can someone help me with my problem? I can't seem to upload files anywhere, IE: rapidshare, mediafire, speedyshare. It won't let me upload files at all.
