is there a timer thing which auto turns on ur pc at a certain time?

eg,
i wake up at 7 and i wont my pc to be turned on and ready so like could it auto turn 0n at 6.55...

also i have vista, i tried yahoo answer but all the questions on there r how to auto turn off

Well your computer is not technically on, so your computer cannot technically turn itself on if its not on... I hope that makes sense... (correct me if im wrong) Basically, its like a dead person. A dead person (your turned off computer) cannot turn itself (on) into a zombie because its not alive! So we need a 3rd party... I think you could get something to put into your outlet that sets a timer for it to allow power...

Sorry, you probably can't do it.

LEAVE IT ON OVER NIGHT?

Seems in the long run its better to leave your computer on forever than to turn it off and on 2-5 times a day. Each time you turn it on your Hard Drive has to make an extra effort to start up again. ect ect

Leaving it on isn't very environmentally friendly, but hey, I wouldn't expect anything else from an american.

Is waiting 2 mins for it to start up really that trajic?

There is an onboard timer in your motherboard (called the CMOS Battery) that controls the date, time, etc. It also controls your BIOS settings (which includes overclocking). So I have to say that it can be done, but I don't know how you would do it.

Try BIOS and what's the big deal? The guy just wants to use his computer when he wakes up. Maybe he's waiting for an ebay thing or something. I feel sorry for the people who actually think it's a good thing to always wait. There's being patient but there is also being patient for something worth waiting for.

why don't you try putting the computer on "Stand By" or put it on "Hibernate" over night so that when you wake up you don't have to turn the computer on.

It doesnt even take but a minute to turn it on in the first place..
