I noticed the game runs in full screen, is there a way to make a windowed?

Well there is also an option that I've noticed on Vista's or maybe even XP. I haven't played CD games in a while but I think there can be an option in the actual game where it says to "tick" full screen or something and when you un-tick it, it will work. Chances are DxWnd would work though.

Only if its a directX game, and no, not all of them will work, especially newer ones. I would recommend 3dAnalyser. DL and give that a go.
You have all manner of options too for video options tweaking.

zyndr0m, anyone ever told you, all your posts are just spam and pointless?

Assassin's creed would seem to be tweakable, but editing its .ini config files in appdata and such. A fullscreen entry is present, but changing it has absolutely no effect, thanks to ubisofts awesome thinking.

I have personally used Dxwnd for this game, and it works fine.
Just don't move the mouse around too erratically, it can lose focus and do wierd stuff sometimes Wink
