| With proxies, it is like a game of chance. Some work, some don't. But usually if it works the speeds are very bad. An RS Premium account is not that expensive, also you can earn free ones too.

My point exactly
With a proxy that might end up allowing you to download, your traffic is been routed (most likely) half-way round the planet. Goes through all sorts of congested places, namely the proxies themselves.

You shouldn't even have to be messing with the MAC address to obtain a new IP. A reboot will do it.
Besides if its a router, you won't change the MAC address of it. Behind a router, your individual machines IP's and MAC's are not seen. Traffic is put through NAT/PAT so they are effectively hidden from the web.
Your router is the only device seen at that stage. If your like me, you might have a static IP, in which case its harder as you would have to use a proxy to access web traffic from a spoofed IP.
But I don't use a proxy, there are alternatives, like not even using RS |
If your like me and you need to change your IP real quick, a reboot won't do it. They usually take a while to change. MAC Address changing of an IP takes me literally, 5 seconds, and then another 5 for the modem to connect to my ISP.

Yeah if you have a modem thats fine that way.
Not all ISP's are the same, I know that much. Sometimes you'll be lucky, sometimes not. Also, there are debates about whether a static IP is better or whether a dynamic one is. It all depends on the individuals needs though.
A router would give a hightened level of security and lots of other benefits, of which the IP changing isn't one of them for you
A modem gives no such protection, and if your firewall isn't there and running properly you're in da sh!t. All it takes is for someone to know that you exist by performing something like a port scan, finding those entry-points, then exploiting the application that lies behind it
What were we talking about?!! hehe...

Ive cracked the system folks!!!!
this only works with a router that is not set with a static ip. if you got that then youre okay... After downloading just unplug the power to the router and plug it back in and it will generate a new IP adress and youll be able to download another file. keep doing this until youve downloaded all of them.
