It's obviously quad Core. Multiple cores are always better then a single core because each core shares the load so the more cores, the less your computer has to work because the load is divided among all the cores. A single core works 100% when a dual core has each core working at 50% and quad is at 25%. Less over-heating, less lag, less everything.. cept price xD _________________

Actually, in a dual core, each core works at 50%, but each core is double, so each mini core is working at 25%. _________________

1 core = not the best
2 core = better
3core = better than the last
4 core = best
x core = greatest _________________

Quad core, but if you aren't going to be using all that processing power, then you might as well use a dual core and save a little energy (TDP). It all depends on what you are doing. _________________

| If you have the money, quad core, period. Don't listen to people who say duals are better for gaming, they're likely just taking what someone else said out of context. |

That's what my brother told me :/
He told me that Core(2)Duo has two double cores.
And my deduction was that it was 2 cores, and each core has 2 mini cores inside. _________________

They are only better in the fact that they're cheaper. A quad core generally has much better bang for the buck. A dual core 3GHz processor generally costs about the same as a quad core 2GHz processor. In this case, the dual core is probably superior, but if you have a little bit more money, I'd definitely go for the quad core.
I highly suggest a Q6600 with a bit of overclockage. _________________

What he was referring to was the quads, they have 2 dies underneath that have 2 actual cores inside. If you were to pull the heatspreader off, you'd see what appeared to be 2 cores, but they're actually 2 seperate dual core dies on one chip, if that made sense. Basically, slap 2 Core 2 Duo's on one chip, that's their method of a quad. |

Well people see that for the same price duals are always clocked higher, and most programs aren't mult-treaded. Of course people fail to realize the fact that any self-respecting enthusiast will overclock it anyway, making that whole concept irrelevant. |

There are people out there that always want to buy the best for everything. I actually think a dual core is good enough for the average adult and teenager. A lot of games besides really recent ones don't even use all 4 cores. And seriously what are you going to be doing that will destroy your computer to the point of having to use 4 cores? It saves energy and like hundreds of dollars. _________________
