All that isn't necessary, the program that uses the dll can be stopped from running and deleted if he would just do what I said... _________________

Hijack this is garbage and trash. Why people download unnecessary tools IDK, but a trojan is not the end of the world. You got the trojan w/o hijack this and it is sure a hell of a lot quicker to remove the trojan without it. _________________

lucky for you, its not a virus. Difference is:
Trojan: Can't multiply but they can endanger your security information. Almost like a virus, but isn't as bad.
Virus: Can do all of above, and much worse things, and can multiply. The worst that can happen is either tracking EXACTLY where you live or deleting system32 (you NEED system 32) and yes, try Unlocker |

Trojan: Any form of virus downloaded "secretly" with something else. A Trojan has the exact same capabilities as a virus, the main difference is it's received in a different way. The most common action of a trojan is to remotely download more viruses/malware from other locations and to keylog users. They can, however, delete things, spread themselves through email, infect files on your computer (for instance, there's a trojan I know of that will infect all your .dll and .exe files with itself, leaving your only way to rid yourself of the trojan being to reformat), etcetera. A virus is often downloaded as a trojan, then self replicates once installed into the victim's computer.
Virus: Generally the same as a trojan, but it's more often spread through exploits in security holes, rather than downloaded unbeknownst to the user with other applications.
There isn't much of a difference between viruses and trojans, other than the method of infection. _________________

HiJack this doesn't do anything special...it doesn't access anything that you couldn't access. I see it as pointless because, all it does is show you a list of suspected programs/registry entries using extremly high heuristics and then leaves it up to the end user to pick what he wants to delete. While that is great to stop a trojan from starting [at runtime] , it may not delete a *.tmp file that contains the trojan, or knows where to re-download it.
I'm not going to argue with you because I have never used Hijack this for the sole reason that I see it as pointless. Its not hard to spot a trojan once you suspect your infected. _________________

Ok let me clear this up:
@CZ3R0C, I seriously suggest that you quit posting in this thread now.
You have no idea what you are talking about, and you just look like you are stringing words together to make a sentence, that to you, might sound cool.
HiJack this doesn't use an sort of heuristics. Its not a security application, in that it doesn't attempt to scan for or remove anything.
All it does is create a logfile of processes, startup apps, and BHO's to name but a few, in order for a more experience analyst to look at, and advise.
Its in no way pointless, and is very widely used. Someone can see exactly what is running and what shouldn't be there. Beats the hell out of shooting in the dark. Unless you have anything helpful to say, that you have from your own extensive experience, leave this thread to those that can help this guy.
Besides, the thread is olf anyway, and you shouldn't have bumped it back up for no reason what so ever, except to take a pop at 'tmocky' (which backfired on your ass bigtime, you ended up owning yourself with the crap you blurted out). 'Giveme', the thread starter, hasn't even replied, so we must assume that his problem is solved, or he chose help elsewhere, which would be a wise thing to do with some replies we get on here.

I didn't take and shots at tmocky. Maybe re-read my post? I said I wouldn't argue, and that I don't use HiJack This. _________________
