I tried what all of you said and I found out there is something wrong with the first slot for RAM on my motherboard. When I tried to turn the computer on with just RAM on the first slot, my power was on, but my monitor was all black. I blow the first RAM slot so hard and so long, I got dizzy, and it still won't work.

Okay well for one thing, i did it that way, i was told to do it that way, and i even saw a video where they had it that way. I am assuming it is correct if 3 people did it and found success.

What i mean is just put them in 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.

Because 1 is Blue, 2 is Black, 3 is Blue and 4 is black.

Atleast that is how it is for me, and some other people on IRC.

Depends entirely on the motherboard.
Most times for boards i've built PC's with, the dual-channel functionality has been activated by using either the first two slots, or the 2nd two slots, and not in the odd combination. I've only had the one that did that.
So there is no generic, 'try this' method for it.

But anyway back to the subject if the threadstarter is still even interested, it is sounding like a DIMM socket fault or an actual dodgy stick of RAM.
Best to try a bios update first though, especially where dual-channel capability is concerned. Most manufacturers keep increasing their memory support. I've had to do it a few times in the past with A-Data RAM in an Abit board for example. It wouldn't recognize full DDR-800 when plugged in according to the dual-channel arrangement, but it would in an odd order, ie. socket 1 and 3.
Always check it.

The RAM can only find into the first two slots. Here is what my ram looks like and what the slots look like

Yeah 99% of boards are arranged like that, lol, i'm hardly struggling to understand that. What have you concluded by swapping RAM around and trying one at a time etc?

This is my motherboard, as you can see. I'm using dual-channeled when I have my sticks in bus 1 + 3.

Alright let me clear this up, in 99% of cases, this is how it works:

|1| | | xxx |2| | | This is how Intel boards should look, there's usually a gap between slots 2 and 3

|A| |A| | | | |
|M| |M|| | | |
|1| |2| | | | | This is how most AMD boards look, they're usually clumped together with no space.

What's important is the color coding, if you have 2 white slots and 2 black slots, put both sticks in the black slots, or both sticks in the white slots and you'll be good.
