 Posted: Sun Apr 20, 2008 9:29 am Post subject: Computer Screen changed to orange shade |

| I was playing on a private server when my screen started to flicker orange colors. I exited out and ever since my screen has been changing from everything being an orange shade to normal colors. I got the latest graphics card but that doesn't seem to help. Anyone know the problem and how I can fix it? |

And you can tell this for a fact cheetah?
The more likely reason is what I stated about the monitor, as the cable has not been moved about so far as I can tell. Old monitors tend to become 'tinted' as it were with a certain colour. |

which cable are you talking about? monitor to cpu or monitor to monitor to power?
if its to the cpu there is like no way you can replace that?

Install the monitor drivers and see if that helps, it thatdosen't then your monitor is probably going to die out.

90% sure, I've seen this a million times. The only other thing it could be is one of the cathodes is dying, but then it would be a constant tint. Since it happens off and on it almost has to be the cable.
To the OP, the cable going from the monitor to the tower. It carries the red, green, and blue color signals on separate cables, if say the blue or green gets damaged it will give the orange tint you're talking about. |

This could be true because I am using a new cord. I don't feel like getting the other cord out to see if it works/doesn't work with this monitor. I'll just keep that in mind, thanks. |

ive lost a few of my moniters to "flickering disease"

Packet editing and/or using an auto clicker cannot have caused this right?
and
does this mean i just fucked up both monitors or they would have fine colors with a different graphics card? |

Are these monitors flat panel lcd or normal tube style.
If you have magnets/speakers close to the sides of it that can cause discolorations in them. Also the video card going out can do some weird things as well.
Be sure your cables are secure also. |
