Nope, you'd need a better computer than both of them put together to run vista smoothly.
Haha, seriously the alienware is better. Dell suck! |

It is pushing it a bit like Noz said..
Neither one of them has any future-proofing even if vista is not the OS pre-installed. Look around a bit more if I was you |

The specs on the Alienware only list the possible options. Which setup (options) are you going to use?
The Alienware specs (even at lowest) beats the Dell, but that's only because the Dell has an integrated graphics processor. _________________

Dell is... old news. My sister got one for $400 and it only has 1GB of RAM, 1.6GHz operating speed and comes with all this software that you'll never need.
I say alienware because it is still well known as a great gaming computer, and it looks so much cooler. _________________

All of you people choosing sides mainly due to which company (FYI Alienware is owned by Dell now) are misinformed.
Ever since Alienware was bought out by Dell, They have been pretty shitty.
Before they were bought out, they were just expensive peices of crap, but now they are expensive peices of dog shit.
tmock got one and it shocks him, literally.
I'd go with the XPS because it looks cooler than stupid Alienware cases, etc, but in the long run, it is always best to build it yourself. _________________

i do like the graphics cards and other things about the alienware, but after reading several articles, as of now, i believe that the Intel dual cores out-perform the amd dual cores. also another site to check out is ibuypower, which is very nice. _________________
