I love everybody suggesting UT3

Gamespy says: 998 servers, 585 players

the original Unreal Tournament (which is 9 years old) has 4 times the players currently.

UT3 must be one of the biggest flops in PC gaming history.

What about just downloading them via torrents, or just a demo to test them ?
Then the game you like the best you buy, or download..

Thats what demo's are for.
But i'm sure he is aware of that. Might be that his internet connection isn't up to downloading the ever-increasing size's of demo files these days.
