Summary:
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, one of the most common disorders that develop in children. There are a few obvious/common symptoms for ADHD. They are; Impulsiveness, Hyperactivity, and Inattention(short) attention span). These can have huge negative affect in the life of the person.
Inattention. The low attention spans can lead to failure in schools and performing certain skills that require critical thinking. They are easily distracted at any little thing, and can barely keep up with work. Hyperactivity and Impulsiveness. Kids with these usually show no control over their actions. They randomly do things for no apparent reason, they act without thinking. In other words, they are very restless.
However, all of these symptoms can be shown by anyone. When they become too excessive/repetitive over a long period of time, to the point in which a person’s life style is being altered or damaged in certain areas, is when you may be able to truly tell the difference between random behaviors and ADHD.
Treatment for ADHD is done by psychologists. Treatments are usually performed by behavioral therapists. The patient can be treated with medicines, or by behavioral therapy. |
